This WDT tool is very close to perfect. It distributes espresso grounds extremely well and helps break up clumps nicely for more even extraction.The build quality is excellent, and the adjustable depth feature is a nice touch. It feels premium and works effectively.My only small issue is that after distribution, it can leave a bit of a mound of grounds on top if you’re not careful. If you don’t lightly tap and level things afterward, it’s easy to accidentally spill grounds and create a little mess or waste coffee.It’s not a huge deal once you get used to the workflow, but it would be nice if that was less of a concern.Overall though, this is still a very effective espresso distribution tool that noticeably improves puck prep.

I've used a few of these fancy WDT distributor tools before and currently run the Normcore V3, which I've been happy with. So I had a solid frame of reference going into this one.zeroHero is a newer player in the premium espresso tools space and they're doing a genuinely good job. This WDT tool looks great, feels well designed overall, and most importantly does exactly what it's supposed to: clean, even needle distribution through the puck for better extraction. No complaints on performance.The standout feature for me is the base. It has an integrated cleaning brush built right in, which is such a simple and thoughtful addition for this type of tool. You use it, you set it down, you brush the needles clean. Obvious in hindsight, but I haven't seen it executed this neatly before. Love it. The included replacement needles are another nice touch.A couple of things worth flagging though. First, there are zero instructions in the box. Figuring out how to adjust the needle depth required trial and error on my part. I eventually found a helpful infographic on the Amazon listing itself, but that's not where instructions should live. A simple card with a QR code linking to a video would go a long way.Second, the needle carrier has a 3D printed, plastic feel to it. The Normcore equivalent is all metal, and by comparison this part feels a notch below the premium positioning zeroHero is going for. It's nitpicky, but noticeable.Overall a strong tool with one genuinely clever design feature. Worth it.
